(Rising Sun, Ind.) - Red Wolf Sanctuary is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving local wild lands and the animals that live there.

In recent weeks, Red Wolf Sanctuary has reached a fundraising goal of $20,000 to build a Raptor Barn, which is under construction.

According to the organization's Facebook page, black bear, Maumee, has been sharing her bear barn with a baby Barred owl, two Eastern Screech-Owls, two Great Horned Owls, a Bald Eagle, and five baby skunks.

As of last week, the goal was to have two mews finished so the eagle and another raptor can move into the new barn. The upstairs flight enclosure still requires more work.

Being a non-profit, Red Wolf Sanctuary relies on donations for the preservation of 452 acres of natural habitat and support to animals.

Every year, Red Wolf Sanctuary rehabs and releases hundreds of native animals. These animals include babies who have been found abandoned or standing next to their dead mothers in the road, birds who have been hit by cars while trying to hunt, as well as animals who have been attacked by dogs.
