(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Three winners have been named in the summer Lego Family Challenge at the Lawrenceburg Public Library District.
The competition was offered virtually over five weeks using YouTube videos, hosted by Amy Rose, Lego Club coordinator and youth coordinator of Dearborn County CASA.
Each week had a different theme: Week 1, Mosaics; Week 2, Number/Color; Week 3, Bridges; Week 4, Watercrafts and Week 5, Whatever You Want.
Winners are Greendale Middle School student William Burrows, 11, Greendale, and sisters and North Dearborn Elementary students Sadie Creek, 10, and Josie Creek, 7, West Harrison.
Each winner received a goodie bag of small Lego sets.
Burrows said his favorite week was the watercraft challenge because he made his own vehicle.
“There was a character. I used many pieces to build it. Three long pieces, a hose looking piece and a couple random pieces,” said Burrows, son of Wayde and Missy.

Fifth-grader Sadie Creek’s favorite creation was from the final week, when there was no theme.
“I liked that one because you got to be creative and do whatever you wanted,” said Sadie Creek.
She built a pyramid with a Lego Sadie on top.
“Winning feels fantastic, glorious. I am really, really, really excited because I really, really, really love Legos,” said Sadie Creek.
Second-grader Josie Creek was a fan of the challenge to make something that floats- watercraft week.
“I never tried anything like that before. I made a raft with steps and a tower and Lego Josie on it,” said Josie Creek.
Although the competition is over, the fun can continue! All the challenge videos can be found on the library district’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
