Pedestrian Killed In State Road 1 Accident

The accident occurred on Saturday.

(Guilford, Ind.) – A teenage boy was killed after being struck by a vehicle.

Dearborn County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the 25700 block of State Road 1 on Saturday.

Deputies say Debra Baker, 55, of Guilford, was traveling northbound on State Road 1 when a pedestrian ran from the west side of the road directly into the path of Baker’s vehicle.

The pedestrian, Joshua Welsh was airlifted to UC Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by UC Air Care, Harrison Fire and EMS, Sunman EMS and the St. Leon Fire Department and First Responders.
