UPDATE: Cleves Resident Killed In US 50 Crash Sunday

A pickup truck rolled off the highway in Dearborn County's Clay Township.

Update published at 11:08 a.m.:

The Dearborn County Sheriff's Office says the two people involved in a fatal crash on U.S. 50 on Sunday were from Cleves.

Passenger Angileah Staat, 22, was killed as she was ejected from the pickup truck as it rolled off the highway just east of Texas Gas Road.

The driver of the truck was Justin Burris, 28. He was transported by Air Care to UC Medical Center. No update on his current condition was available.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) - A fatal crash on U.S. 50 over the weekend is under investigation.

A 1996 Ford Ranger pickup truck rolled off of U.S. 50 just east of Texas Gas Road in Dearborn County’s Clay Township at around 4:40 p.m. Sunday, August 18.

The sheriff’s office says a passenger in the truck was ejected and died at the scene.

The driver was able to free himself from the wreckage. That person was flown by Air Care to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The names of the victim and the driver are being withheld until family members are notified. Those names could be released Monday.

The sheriff’s office and Indiana State Police are investigating the crash. Other agencies assisting at the scene included Dillsboro Fire Department, Dillsboro EMS, Aurora Fire Department and Aurora EMS.
