Overnight Fire At Versailles Business

The blaze caused U.S. 50 to be closed for several hours late Thursday into early Friday morning.

(Versailles, Ind.) - A Ripley County business went up in flames Thursday night. 

Versailles Fire Chief Ben Sieverding says firefighters responded to the fire at Downtown Mowers on U.S. 50 around 10:34 Thursday night. Firefighters remained on the scene until about 1:40 a.m.

Sieverding says the fire is believed to have started accidentally by a crew that was working on equipment at the store. 

No injuries were reported. 

Versailles Fire Rescue was assisted by fire departments from Osgood, Milan, Aurora and Napoleon.
