(Friendship, Ind.) - Friendship Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle accident on County Road 950 South.
The accident was reported on Friday around 8:23 p.m.
Upon arrival, a single vehicle was eastbound and left the roadway on the right shoulder, over corrected and left the roadway on the left side striking a tree causing it to fall on the roadway.
The vehicle then proceeded to veer off the roadway on the right side, down a steep bank and through the corner of a bean field coming to rest on the edge of the county road.
The patient was treated for serious but not life threatening injuries and transported to the hospital by Ripley County EMS.
A Bobcat operator assisted at the scene by removing the tree to allow the ambulance to access the scene. The accident remains under investigation by the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department at this time.
