The crash occurred near the Delaware Fire Department.
(Ripley County, Ind.) - The Ripley County Sheriff's Office responded to a three-vehicle accident on State Road 129 near the Delaware Fire Department on Monday.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Estelle Road when a vehicle attempting to make a left turn was struck in the rear by an approaching vehicle. The impact of the crash caused the first vehicle to travel into the path of a motorcycle.
The driver of the motorcycle, John C. Jones, of Milan, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other injuries were reported.
The investigation is ongoing. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a contributing factor.
Ripley County Sheriff's deputies were assisted at the scene by Delaware Fire Department, Ripley County EMS, Indiana DNR, Indiana State Police Excise Police, Osgood Police Department, The Indiana State Police Crash Reconstruction Team.
