(Boone County, Ky.) – One person was killed and two others sustained minor injury in a two-vehicle accident in northern Kentucky.

Boone County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash on U.S. 42 near Risnor Road on Tuesday around 6:35 p.m.

Deputies say Sue Brossart, 69, of Butler, crossed left of center and collided head on with a vehicle driven by Autumn Hopper, 30, of Verona.

Brossart was transported to St. Elizabeth in Florence with life threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.

Hopper sustained minor injuries and was treated at St. Elizabeth. A 5-year-old passenger in Brossart’s vehicle also sustained minor injuries.

Two other children in the vehicle were not injured but were transported to the hospital as a precaution.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team is continuing to investigate a cause. Investigators do not believe that intoxication or speed are contributing factors.
