One Dead, Three Injured in NKY Crash

The two-vehicle crash happened on Industrial Drive in Florence.

(Florence, Ky.) - Boone County Sheriff's deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on Industrial Drive on Monday afternoon.

The collision resulted in one fatality and multiple other injuries.

The initial investigation indicates that a vehicle driven by Shirley Hadden, 55, of Cincinnati, was northbound while exiting a parking lot in the 7400 block of Industrial Road. Roadway evidence and witness statements indicate Hadden initiated a left turn from the parking lot, attempted to cross both eastbound lanes in order to travel westbound, and pulled directly into the path of another vehicle.

Hadden was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, where she was pronounced deceased.

Two passengers in her vehicle were injured. Mary Williams, 70, of Cincinnati, sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and Camden Hunter, 12, of Cincinnati, was transported to Cincinnati Children's Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle involved, Tia Wright, 52, of Erlanger, was transported to UC Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Speed and alcohol or drug impairment are not believed to be factors in the crash.

All occupants were confirmed to be wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.
