(Ripley County, Ind.) - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Dave O'Mara Contractor Inc. plans to close S.R. 62 at the bridge over Laughery Creek on Tuesday, January 24, near Friendship from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. to allow room for crews and equipment needed to pour the new bridge deck. The schedule for this work may be adjusted due to inclement weather.
Work began in early June on the $2.5 million superstructure replacement project. The bridge is located approximately four miles east of S.R. 129 in Ripley County. Temporary signals are expected to remain in place through spring 2023 as crews construct the second half of the bridge. Delays to the project have been caused by supply chain challenges.
Drivers are reminded to slow down, use extra caution, and drive distraction-free in and near construction zones. All work is weather dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
