One Arrested, One Hospitalized After Stabbing at NKY Fast Food Restaurant

Two employees got into a verbal altercation that turned physical.

(Florence, Ky.) – One person is in custody after a reported stabbing in Florence.

Florence Police responded to the Rally’s Restaurant on U.S. 42 last Friday. Upon arrival, police located a victim lying in the parking lot with a laceration to his abdomen.

The preliminary investigation showed that two Rally’s employees got into a verbal altercation that turned physical.

Jerome Smith Jr., 28, of Cincinnati, was identified as the suspect and was detained at the scene. He was transported to the Boone County Detention Center and has been charged with Assault 1st Degree.

The victim was sent to UC Medical Center, where he underwent surgery for a non-life-threatening injury.
