Oldenburg Academy Names Jason Walke as Director of Academic Innovation

Walke will coordinate immersive educational experiences, including guest speakers, off-campus visits, and service projects.

(Oldenburg, IN) — March 31, 2025 — Oldenburg Academy is excited to announce that Jason Walke, who has served on the OA faculty since 2022, will step into the newly created position of Director of Academic Innovation for the 2025-2026 school year. In this role, Walke will lead efforts to enhance student learning through experiential programs and oversee the Academy’s new learning schedule, Go Beyond 4.0, and Mission Mondays. He will also coordinate senior internships, junior fellowships, sophomore seminar, and freshmen academy—key components of the Mission Monday curriculum.

As Director of Academic Innovation, Walke will coordinate immersive educational experiences, including guest speakers, off-campus visits, and service projects, while ensuring that the curriculum aligns with academic goals. Additionally, he will manage the logistics for Mission Mondays, a key initiative that fosters student growth through service and real-world opportunities.

“I am excited to step into the Director of Academic Innovation role at Oldenburg Academy,” said Walke. “I look forward to expanding my work with community partners, coordinating Mission Mondays, and building even closer relationships with our faculty and students. These programs will help prepare our students for life after school and support our mission of developing service-oriented individuals.”

Angie Parmer, Principal of Oldenburg Academy, praised Walke's qualifications for the new role: “From the start, Jason has been deeply invested in making our senior internship program a success. His ability to build strong relationships within our school and with the broader community makes him the perfect fit for this role. His leadership in events like Be Bold Brookville and Beautifying the Burg has shown how well he connects our students with real-world opportunities. We’re excited to see how Jason will take our academic programs to the next level.”

Annette Hunger, President of Oldenburg Academy, also expressed her enthusiasm: “As we drive change and innovation at Oldenburg Academy through Go Beyond 4.0 and Mission Mondays, Jason will play a key role in aligning these programs with our commitment to academic excellence, social responsibility, leadership, and personal and spiritual growth. His leadership will be essential as we continue to strengthen our partnership with Marian University and provide students with the tools they need to succeed in higher education and beyond."
