Ohio County Community Foundation Receives $300,000 Grant

The grant will assist OCCF with unrestricted endowment building.

(Ohio County, Ind.) - The Ohio County Community Foundation (OCCF) has received a matching fund grant totaling $300,000 as part of the eighth phase of Lilly Endowment Inc.’s initiative, Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (Gift VIII). The purpose of the grant is to assist OCCF with unrestricted endowment building.

Qualifying matching funds raised to support the community foundation’s unrestricted endowment funds will be eligible for a $2 to $1 match from now until December 31, 2025 or until the matching funds have been expended. Grants from unrestricted funds allow for adaptability in grantmaking. In turn, this allows OCCF the ability to address the constantly changing needs of Ohio County and its residents, not only today but also tomorrow.

“Lilly Endowment Inc. has provided us with an invaluable tool in Gift VIII and we are extremely grateful.” said Jane Angst, OCCF Executive Director. “They have given us the means to cultivate our unrestricted funds by allowing donors the ability to triple their gifts to the funds that provide OCCF with an avenue for the most flexible grantmaking.”

Qualifying donations to any of these funds would receive the $2 for $1 match being offered by Lilly Endowment, Inc.

This would be an opportune time to establish a newly named unrestricted fund. The $2 for $1 match enables donors to provide a lasting impact on Ohio County. Funds may be established by individuals, businesses and organizations.
