A deadline for materials will be announced once the Media Marketplace has been rescheduled.

(Ohio Co., Ind,) - The Ohio County Convention, Tourism, and Visitors Commission (Ohio County Tourism) will be participating in an upcoming Indiana Office of Tourism Development’s 2020 Indiana Tourism Media Marketplace. Although the event has been postponed to a later date, Ohio County Tourism is informing all tourist-related entities so they can prepare to provide future promotional materials.

The annual event Media Marketplace provides industry partners a one-stop media networking opportunity to pitch their travel destination ideas for their individual counties and the attractions within them. The event is slated to be held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the fall.

Potential media participants include: writers, freelancers, editors, producers, bloggers and journalists. Media participants could be from national, regional and local outlets.

“We encourage our Rising Sun/Ohio County tourist-related businesses, attractions, and event coordinators to update us on their information so we can help promote them. Although the event has been postponed, this gives everyone plenty of time to work on promotional materials that we can provide to media participants,” said Kendal Miller, Executive Director of Ohio County Tourism.

Any Rising Sun/Ohio County tourist attraction, event promoter, local shop, eatery or lodging facility is welcome to submit promotional materials to the Visitors Center to be distributed during the Marketplace. Promotional adverting items or samples are also welcome. A deadline for materials will be announced once the Media Marketplace has been rescheduled.

The Ohio County Community Foundation has provided a partial grant to help support the Commissions appearance at the event.

The Ohio County Tourism Visitors Center is located at 217 N. High Street in Rising Sun. For additional information, contact Kendal at kendal@enjoyrisingsun.com or telephone (812) 438-4933 when the Visitors Center returns to normal business hours.
