No Injuries in Penntown Structure Fire

Multiple units battled the cold and the fire on Tuesday morning.

(Penntown, Ind.) - Multiple agencies were dispatched to a structure fire on Tuesday morning. 

Firefighters battled below freezing temperatures, which presented numerous obstacles and challenges in stopping the fire at a home in the 9000 block of E. State Road 46 in Penntown. 

No injuries were reported and a cause is unknown at this time. 

Responding agencies included Sunman Fire, Sunman Rescue 20, Morris Volunteer Fire Department, Batesville Fire, Milan Fire, Manchester Fire, St. Leon Fire, Ripley County Sheriff's Office, Ripley County 911 Dispatch, Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office, American Red Cross and the Indiana State Highway Department. 

Due to the fire, State Road 46 at Penntown Road had to be shut down for multiple hours near 

Sunman Fire sends their thanks to the Sunman BP and Sunman American Legion and the Dive restaurant for providing much needed food and beverages to the first responders on the scene.
