New Foundation Aims to Assists Local Families Battling Cancer

The Greatest Need Foundation will serve three counties in southeast Indiana

(Ripley County, Ind.) - The Greatest Need Foundation has been created to support persons living with cancer in Ripley, Franklin and Decatur counties.

The foundation aims to provide financial relief, emotional support, practical assistance, family support, dignity preservation, and quality of life to cancer patients.

Services include but are not limited to covering crucial expenses; connecting patients and families with resources to reduce stress; helping with everyday needs like transportation and meal preparation; extending care to the whole family; ensuring patients maintain their independence; and providing resources for patients to maintain normalcy and comfort during active treatment.

Assistance is intended to help during urgent situations and is evaluated on a case‑by‑case basis.

The Greatest Need Foundation was founded by Kari Ann Rennekamp.

"This has been a dream of mine since my own cancer journey that started in 2003," reads Rennekamp's bio page. "My mission is to help others facing a cancer journey to be able to focus on quality of life during the fight and not finances.
