National Weather Service Issues Heat Advisory

Today's high is 95 degrees with heat index values expected to exceed 100.

(Wilmington, Oh.) – Heat index values are expected to surpass 100 today.

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a Heat Advisory from noon until 7:00 p.m. for the following counties:

  • Dearborn, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley, and Switzerland in Indiana
  • Boone, Carroll, Gallatin and Kenton in Kentucky
  • Hamilton County, Ohio

Today’s forecast calls for sunny skies with a high of 95 degrees and a chance for thunderstorms in the afternoon. Heat index values as high as 105 are expected.

Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illness to occur.

Individuals are reminded to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-condition room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Additionally, children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
