National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day March 25th 2022

March 25th marks National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day. Originally created in 2006 by Reaching for the Stars (RFTS), a cerebral palsy advocacy group, this initiative is meant to educate, push for inclusion, and find a cure for cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is one of the most common childhood disorders in the United States. To improve community awareness & to facilitate social advocacy, please “Go Green” for Cerebral Palsy Awareness and wear green March 25th.

  • Cerebral palsy is caused by damage or abnormal development in the parts of the brain that control movement. These events can happen before, during, or shortly after birth or in the first few years of life, when the brain is still developing. In many cases the exact cause of cerebral palsy is not known.
