(Walton, Ky.) - Boone County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a single-vehicle injury collision involving a motorcycle around 6:42 p.m.
The crash took place in the 11000 block of Dixie Highway in Walton.
According to the Boone County Sheriff's Office, Robert Schulze, 47, of Williamstown, Kentucky, was southbound on Dixie Highway when he failed to negotiate a left-hand curve at the intersection of Duffel Lane.
The motorcycle exited the roadway, struck a culvert, and then collided with a metal gate.
Schulze was thrown from the motorcycle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigators say Schulze was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
