The hospital continues to see a surge in hospitalized COVID-19 patients.

(Batesville, Ind.) – Margaret Mary Health has released another weekly COVID-19 update.
According to the report, MMH continues to see a surge in hospitalized COVID-19 patients. As of Tuesday, the number of COVID positive inpatients is more than 2.5 times what it was less than a week ago.
Margaret Mary Health currently has 27 patients on their Med Surg floor with four of those patients in the Special Care Unit. Sixteen patients are COVID positive and three are on ventilators.
All COVID patients under the age of 70 are not vaccinated, according to the report.
Margaret Mary Health officials are currently evaluating elective inpatient surgeries on a day-to-day basis.
“Like many other hospitals, we may reach a point soon where we will have to cancel all elective surgeries if our inpatient volumes continue to increase due to COVID,” said Becky Walter, Marketing Coordinator.
The Indiana Department of Health is holding COVID-19 testing and vaccination clinics on Tuesday and Wednesday from Noon until 8 pm each day at the Franklin County Fairgrounds. Walk-ins are welcome for the rapid tests, while registration for the shot is being taken at www.ourshot.in.gov.
