(Ripley County, Ind.) - Ripley County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash with injuries on Tuesday afternoon.
The accident took place around 3:25 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 50 and County Road 750 E. involving a semi and a pickup truck.
The investigation determined that a Ford Ranger operated by 19-year-old Collin O'Brien, of Dillsboro, was traveling north on CR 750 E, crossing over U.S. 50 when his vehicle was struck by a semi-truck with no trailer.
The semi was operated by David Jones Jr., 48, from Missouri.
The collision caused O'Brien's vehicle to be thrown across the grass median and onto the eastbound lanes of traffic. He sustained minor injuries.
Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in this incident.
The Sheriff's Office would like to remind motorists to look both ways and yield to oncoming traffic, especially when crossing four lane highways.
