Proceeds from the event will support Jarrod Nichols on his road to recovery following a Sept. 10 accident.

(Milan, Ind.) - The Milan Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a benefit for a fellow first responder who was injured in a car accident.
Night Out for Nichols will be held on Saturday, October 21 from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. at the Milan American Legion Post 0235.
Milan Fire, along with Aurora Police Department, invite the community to join the festivities which include a pulled pork dinner (served 6-8 PM while supplies last), raffles, silent auction, dunking booth, bounce house, tours of police and fire vehicles, and live bands.
Proceeds from the event will support Jarrod Nichols on his long road to recovery. The Milan native and Aurora Police officer was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Marshall County on September 10.
His girlfriend, Riley Duerstock, of Batesville, was also injured in the crash. She succumbed to her injuries at Memorial Hospital in South Bend last Tuesday.
