Here is a list of local Memorial Day observances around the tri-state. If there is an event not on our list that you would like to see included, please email the full details to us.

In honor of the sacrifices of service members, Eagle Country 99.3 will be playing patriotic country music during the holiday weekend.

Dillsboro

American Legion Dillsboro will Conduct Memorial Day services at the following locations: Oakdale Cemetery 1:00 PM, St. John Lutheran Cemetery 3:00 PM. Major Richard Graver, U.S. Air Force is the guest speaker for this event

MONDAY, MAY 27 

Aurora

Local Veterans Service Organizations will conduct a Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 27, 2024 at 11:00am at River View Cemetery, 3635 E Laughery Creek Rd, Aurora, in Soldier's Circle. The service will include a Presentation of Wreaths, Memorial Day Remembrances, a Rifle Volley, and Taps.

Florence, Ky.

The City of Florence welcomes everyone to join us as we honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2024.  

The city's Annual Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Boone County High School. The parade route follows Burlington Pike from the high school and turns at Ewing Boulevard, concluding at the Florence Government Center. There will be road closures along the route that will begin at 9:45 a.m. and last until the conclusion of the parade.

The Annual Memorial Day Ceremony will begin at 11:30 a.m. (immediately following the parade) at the Veterans Memorial on the campus of the Florence Government Center, 8100 Ewing Boulevard, Florence, KY 41042. The Memorial Day Program will have patriotic music and recognize those that have served in the military.

In the event of rain, the Memorial Day Ceremony will take place in the lower level of the Florence Government Center.

American Legion Post 239 Memorial Day Parade Happens May 27

American Legion Post 452 will be holding Memorial Day services May 27 at the following cemeteries:

West Fork cemetery @ 9:00am
East Fork cemetery @ 9:30am
Dover Cemetery @ 10:00am
Yorkville Cemetery @ 10:45 am
New Alsace Cemetery @ 11:15am

*Cambridge Cemetery will be skipped due to the road closure. The names of these veterans will be read at West Fork Cemetery at 9:00am
