(Guilford, Ind.) – A semi crash shut down a portion of State Road 1 for several hours on Monday afternoon.
Dearborn County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash near Cook Road in Guilford around 12:30 p.m.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies located a semi pulling a large dump bed full of lime down an embankment.
The semi was traveling southbound on State Road 1 when the driver suffered a medical episode. The semi then traveled into the northbound lane and went through the guardrail before traveling down the hillside.
The driver, who remains unidentified, was transported to St. Elizabeth Dearborn with unknown injuries.
The Dearborn County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the Scene by Miller York Fire, St. Leon Fire, Lawrenceburg EMS, Bright Fire, the Indiana State Police, INDOT and Todd's Wrecker Service.
The accident caused State Road 1 to be closed into late Monday night.
