There were three contested Mayoral races in the area on Tuesday.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – The votes are in.
On Tuesday, registered voters in Dearborn and Ohio counties took to the ballot box to cast their votes for various offices in Aurora, Greendale, Lawrenceburg, and Rising Sun.
Most notably, there were three contested primary elections for Mayor in three of those cities.
In Lawrenceburg, incumbent Republican Mayor Kelly Mollaun defeated Matthew Calhoun for the Republican nomination in the November General Election. Mollaun received 158 votes (80.2%) to Calhoun’s 39 votes (19.8%).
Vince Karsteter was a big winner in the City of Greendale’s Republican primary for mayor. Karsteter received 365 votes (80.9%). His opponent, Victor Fay III, received 86 votes (19%).
The last of the contested Mayoral races took place in Rising Sun. Incumbent Steve Slack defeated Stephen Foote with 136 votes (71.9%) to 53 votes (28%).
Aurora’s mayoral candidates were unopposed in Tuesday’s primary. Republican Patrick Schwing received 60 votes, while Democrat Melvin Kramer, Jr. got 35 votes.
