May is Spring Clean Up Month in Greendale

Three events have been scheduled.

(Greendale, Ind.) – The City of Greendale and Greendale Main Street are teaming up for Spring Clean Up Month.

The first event is scheduled for Saturday, May 7. Free Dumpster Day will take place from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Rand Street Garage. There will be separate collections areas for trash recycling, electronics, yard waste, and a furniture swap section.

Residents are encouraged to come and take furniture if they are in need. All unclaimed furniture will be disposed of at the end of the event.

To participate in the Free Dumpster Day, residents must provide proof of residency by showing a utility bill.

The city is unable to accept mattresses, oil, paint, or tires.

On Saturday, May 14, a roadway cleanup will take place along U.S. 50 between Greencom Drive and Oberting Road. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Greendale Cinema parking lot at 8:00 AM for instruction and to pick up trash bags, vests, and gloves.

The final part of Spring Clean Up Month takes place on Saturday, May 21 with a Shred Day event at the Utility Building on Ridge Avenue. Any resident of Dearborn County is invited to shred documents for free between 9 AM and noon.
