By Travis Thayer (Brookville, Ind.) – Margaret Mary Health has an agreement in place to acquire a longstanding medical facility in Brookville. Fayette Regional Health System and Margaret Mary Health announced Wednesday an agreement to change ownership of Fayette Regional’s HealthPlex located at 11137 U.S. 52, Brookville. According to hospital officials, Margaret Mary Health will assume ownership and management of the health facility, effective October 1. "The result of this collaborative effort with Fayette Regional helps Margaret Mary expand and enhance its services in Franklin County,” said Tim Putnam, President and CEO of Margaret Mary Health. “The location and amenities this facility has to offer provides us with an ideal opportunity to better fulfill our mission of caring for families in southeastern Indiana.” HealthPlex has expanded to over 25,000-square feet over the last decade, and has been a medical mainstay in Brookville for over 20 years. Margaret Mary Health plans to continue the health center’s services of providing primary care, urgent care and ancillary services at the facility. Officials from both health systems will work together to ensure a smooth transition for everyone involved – including patients. “Our goal is to take what Fayette Regional has already established at this facility and use our resources to further impact and improve the community’s health status,” Putnam said. “We intend to be fully visible and engaged in the community as we partner with families, businesses, organizations and other partners to make a real difference in Franklin County.” According to a release from Fayette Regional, the agreement stems from their desire to put a greater focus on current services and growing needs within Fayette and Franklin couties and the surrounding area.
