Due to significant flooding
(Dearborn County, Ind.) - Dearborn County is experiencing significant flooding of the Whitewater River in and near West Harrison.
A mandatory evacuation order was put into place for several roadways near the Whitewater River. These roadways include Longnecker, Pinhook, Cranes Run, Barber, Bonnie Lane, Herberts Lane, Cobblestone Court, Stonefields Lane Loia Creek Lane, or anyone along the Whitewater River.
American Red Cross has shelters established at 505 Bielby Road in Lawrenceburg, IN and 300 George St in Harrison, OH.
Several public safety resources have been deployed to the area. The main priority is life safety and these recourses have completed several rescues.
Roadways that are currently closed include Longnecker, Pinhook, Cranes Run, Barber, Bonnie Lane, Herberts Lane, Cobblestone Court, Stonefields Lane Loia Creek Lane, State St at the bridge, and Harrison Brookville between McQueen and Dair Ave. Please do not drive around barricades or into flooded roadways.
