By Mike Perleberg (Hebron, Ky.) - A northern Kentucky man and his transgender wife are taking Amazon to court alleging discrimination at work. Dana Lane and Allegra Schawe-Lane had been employed at the Amazon warehouse in Hebron from October 2014 until October 2015. The couple went to work there because, they say, the company’s LGBT-friendly policies appealed to them. However, that’s not what the Lanes experienced, they claim. Co-workers allegedly harassed them and made death threats, and supervisors did not take steps to end the behavior. The two say they quit the company after the brake lines on their vehicle had been cut while in a secured parking area at the warehouse. The Lanes filed the federal lawsuit Wednesday after the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission found evidence of discrimination. The Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund is representing them.
