Man Shoots Self After Barricading In Madison Store

By Mike Perleberg (Madison, Ind.) - Madison Police were  called to a possible suicide inside of the GNC store at the River Pointe Shopping Center on the Madison hilltop before 9:00 a.m. Friday. Initial reports indicated shots fired. Police arrived and found the door to the store was locked. After the Madison Police ERT team forced entry, officers found a 26-year-old white male dead of a single gunshot wound. "He had committed suicide," said Madison Chief of Police Dan Thurston. The suicidal subject's name was not released. No one else was injured. Other stores in the strip mall were closed until the scene was deemed safe. Reporters at 95.3 WIKI contributed to this story.
