(Madison, Ind.) – A Madison man sustained fatal injuries in an industrial explosion accident on Monday afternoon.

Madison Police responded to the U.S. Premier Tube Mill on Michigan Road around 1:36 p.m.

Upon arrival, responding officers were directed to the maintenance area of the plant, where Christopher Jones, 31, was found unconscious and severely injured.

Personnel from U.S. Premiere rendered first aid until emergency responders arrived, and Jones was transported from the scene to Nortons-KDH. Jones was eventually flown to a Louisville hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
