Local County Unemployment Rates Come in Lower Than State Average

Data from the DWD was released on Wednesday.

INDIANAPOLIS - December unemployment rates for local counties was released on Wednesday. 

According to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, all five southeastern Indiana counties in the Eagle Country listening area had a jobless rate of 2.5 percent or better. 

Ohio County has the best unemployment rate in the area at 2.0 percent, tied for the sixth best jobless rate among Indiana's 92 counties. 

As compared to Indiana's seasonally adjusted rate of 3.1 percent, all five counties in the area had an unemployment rate better than the state average.
