The event will be streamed live for those unable or unwilling to attend.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The Lawrenceburg Community School Corporation Administration has been considering multiple ideas to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2020.

After extensive local discussion, hearing guidance from the Governor last Friday (May 1) and obtaining graduation plan approval from the Dearborn County Health Department, it has been decided to host Graduation outside on the LHS Multi-Purpose Field on Friday, July 10th at 8:00 pm (Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 9:00 am rain date) with additional guidelines as follows:

● Graduation is voluntary. Any student or guest who has concerns about their health and safety as related to COVID-19 should not attend. Those graduates who do not attend will still receive their diploma.

● The ceremony will be streamed live for those unable to attend and an edited video copy will be shared with seniors and families. Students, friends and family are encouraged to attend virtually if they prefer to do so or cannot attend.

● Graduates will be limited to 4 guests so that social distancing may be practiced within seating around the field.

● The use of PPE and other accepted COVID-19 safety measures is recommended (i.e. - gloves and masks) “may” be asked to be worn by some or everyone. ○ This decision will be made as the date nears through additional collaboration with our local health department.

● Recommend anyone 65 or older, have preexisting conditions, or who is “at risk” per medical guidelines not attend. Anyone with concerns should consult their physician before deciding to attend.

● Anyone diagnosed with or experiencing the symptoms of COVID-19, or anyone who has had contact with someone diagnosed with or experiencing the symptoms of COVID-19 must not attend.

● Guests will be asked to sit using social distancing standards (6-8ft.) apart (those coming together may sit closer together assuming their own risk, but social distance from the next guest(s)).

● Online waivers will be required to be signed by graduates, guests and staff to attend.

Additional and more specific information regarding the ceremony will be provided to seniors and their families by the LHS administrators in the near future. Please remember the COVID-19 situation is ever-changing. These plans may be revised if guidance from the Governor or local health department changes as the date nears.
