Thomas has taught at Lawrenceburg High School for six years.

"I was offered a teaching job several times before I finally said yes. It has been one of the best career decisions I’ve made. No day is ever the same, and my students are phenomenal! I love my job and I am grateful to have something to look forward to each and every day," said Thomas.

She added that winning $25,000 would be "lifechanging."

"I’ve always gone paycheck to paycheck trying to pay my student loans down among other bills. I would put a majority of the money into savings to eliminate financial stress and use another portion for a down payment on a new car," Thomas said.

To vote for Thomas to be America's Favorite Teacher, visit America's Favorite Teacher. The current round of voting ends Thursday, April 16 at 7:00 PM PDT.
