Suspect Identified, Charges Pending Following Reported Thefts in Lawrenceburg

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A suspect has been identified following reported thefts at Deer Run Apartments and AutoZone in Lawrenceburg. 

Necardo Recarion Elijah King, 19 of Fairfield, Ohio, is currently an active fugitive out of Butler County, Ohio for driving under suspension and has a warrant for his arrest. 

According to a probable cause affidavit, the following charges against King will be submitted to the Dearborn County Prosecutor's Office: Resisting Law Enforcement (Vehicle), a Level 6 Felony, Theft (Value $750-$50,000), a Level 6 Felony), Theft, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Criminal Mischief, a Class B Misdemeanor. 

The charges stem from an incident on August 2.

According to Lawrenceburg Police, three masked stole a tire from a blue Chevrolet Camero at Deer Run Apartments. Court documents show the individuals then fled from police on State Road 48 in a two-door Lexus with a temporary license plate in the rear window. The police pursuit continued onto U.S. 50. Investigators say the suspect vehicle reached speeds exceeding 125 miles per hour before the pursuit was terminated at the Indiana state line. 

While fleeing, the suspect vehicle nearly struck an SUV near Front Street in Lawrenceburg and was seen traveling on the wrong side of the road multiple times.

The Camero owner reported a missing license plate, and rear driver-side wheel and tire. A matching rim and tire were listed for purchase online, totaling $1,223.

Lawrenceburg Police were also notified via a public Facebook post that the same individuals were seen at the Lawrenceburg AutoZone where they allegedly stole a hydraulic floor jack and a 4-way tire tool, totaling $148.98. 

King was later identified as one of the suspects. The other involved males are unknown at this time. The picture above shows King (standing) and a second suspect. A third male is believed to be involved but was never observed.
