(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A jury duty scam is currently active, according to Lawrenceburg Police.

Scammers are asking residents to pay $4,000 to $7,000 in jury duty fines.

Lawrenceburg Police say the scammers are spoofing the PD's phone number.

"We are not calling anyone to collect on jury duty fines. Please do not fall for this scam," reads a statement from Lawrenceburg Police.
