(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A Lawrenceburg man is in custody after allegedly firing shots in an apartment complex.

On Sunday, March 15, around 7:00 PM, Lawrenceburg Police Department responded to the Tuscany Bay Apartments on the 500 block of River Dr. for a call regarding gun shots.

The caller reported that she believed someone had fired a gun when a bullet came through the wall of her apartment. At the time of the incident, the caller's boyfriend and her 4-year-old child were inside the apartment.

When the boyfriend had gone outside to see what was happening, he heard what he believed to be additional shots coming from a nearby apartment.

Upon arrival to the scene, a male occupant of 513 River Drive pointed a firearm at the responding officers.

The remaining building occupants were evacuated out of the building with no injuries reported.

Brandon McKnight, 37, was identified as the occupant in the 513 apartment.

Lawrenceburg Police were able to make verbal contact with McKnight who eventually agreed to leave his apartment.

McKnight was taken into custody and transported to Highpoint Health where he is currently receiving medical treatment.

At this time, Prosecutor Lynn Deddens is reviewing the incident for appropriate charges upon the release of McKnight.
