Lawrenceburg Clerk-Treasurer Steps Down After Two Years In Office

Press release from the City of Lawrenceburg (Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Today Tyler Rainey, Clerk-Treasurer for the City of Lawrenceburg, announced he was stepping down from his position to focus on his family and other opportunities. Tyler handled the crucial transition from the Jackie Stutz administration, ushering in a new era of fiscal responsibility and transparency in the City of Lawrenceburg. “I would like to thank the citizens of the great City of Lawrenceburg, my family, and my amazing staff here at the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office. It has been an honor to serve as Clerk-Treasurer and I am grateful to everyone I have had the opportunity to work with. I am proud of the work we have done over the last two years, and I look forward to the next chapter in my life. I know that the Democratic Party will choose a new Clerk-Treasurer with the financial background and experience that will continue the progress we have started here.” Mr. Rainey took on the difficult task of replacing multi-term Clerk-Treasurer Jackie Stutz, and in just two years made significant changes to the office. He oversaw the implementation of the Internal Controls self-audit program, developed a new Capital Assets program, oversaw a full audit with the State Board of Accounts, made improvements to the way investments are handled, created a new public records policy, and strengthened the function of the office in transparency and accountability. “Tyler has done an amazing job in just two short years. The City is in a much stronger financial position because of him and his staff. I am thankful for his hard work and I wish him well in his future endeavors,” said Del Weldon, the Lawrenceburg City Attorney. The Dearborn County Clerk has been notified of Mr. Rainey’s decision to step down and has started the process of selecting a replacement. The selection will ultimately be done by caucus of the Dearborn County Democratic Party in the coming month.
