(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Runners and walkers will lace up their shoes again this summer in the name of Lauren Hill.

The 7th annual Lauren's Burg Hill 5K will take place on Saturday, June 19 in downtown Lawrenceburg.

Like in years past, participants can choose to run or walk a 5-mile or 5K distance, or hit the snooze button and simply make a monetary donation.

A virtual option will also be available due to COVID-19. Virtual participants should complete their run or walk between 7:22 a.m. on June 12 and 2:22 p.m. on June 19.

Event organizer Mark Knigga tells Eagle Country 99.3 that he is hopeful that things will be back to normal by race day. If not, adjustments may be made to meet any state and local guidelines for social gatherings.

This year, the 5-mile course may have to be modified due to a road block on Old State Road 48. More details will be released closer to race day.

Registration is available now at www.racemenu.com/LaurenHill. Anyone who registers before 7:22 a.m. on Monday, March 22 will be discounted $5.

The Lauren's Burg Hill 5K is the biggest fundraiser for Lauren's Fight for Cure Foundation. The proceeds support Lauren's legacy to assist children and families fighting DIPG, the deadliest form of childhood brain cancer.
