(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Tom DeWees and Chuck Folop have been serving their community for more than 50 years through their involvement in the Kiwanis Club of Lawrenceburg.

The two most senior members of the Club were recently presented with honorary plaques and Kiwanis Legion of Honor pins recognizing their commitment to service. DeWees has been a member of the Lawrenceburg club for 57 years. Folop has dedicated 55 years.

“The Kiwanis Club of Lawrenceburg marks its 99th year of existence in 2022. It is the amazing devotion of members like Tom and Chuck which has kept the organization active and benefitting Lawrenceburg area youth for so long,” said fellow member Bill Ritzmann.

In addition to holding leadership positions, Folop and DeWees have participated in many Pancake Day breakfasts, golf outings, other fundraisers, and many Kiwanis lunch meetings planning and enjoying the fellowship of other Kiwanians.

DeWees and Folop also served the community as local business leaders and found their involvement in Kiwanis Club provided an opportunity for them to give back. DeWees operated Ande Chevrolet in Greendale for many years. Folop owned General Graphics and still dedicates time photographing community events and Kiwanis activities.

The Kiwanis Club of Lawrenceburg holds a lunch meeting each Tuesday, 12:00-1:00 p.m. at Zion Church, 340 Walnut Street, Lawrenceburg. The club is always welcoming new members, including businesses which can participate as corporate members giving their employees an avenue to give back to the community.
