(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Lawrenceburg Speedway and the City of Lawrenceburg have come together for a touching tribute to a sprint car driver that lost his life in 2023.
Justin Owen, of Harrison, tragically passed away in 2023 following a qualifying round crash during the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship event at Lawrenceburg Speedway.
He was 26.
On Wednesday, the City of Lawrenceburg named a street after Justin Owen.
The street that leads drivers to the pits at Lawrenceburg Speedway is now known as Justin Owen Lane.
The tribute comes just days before the 3rd Annual Justin Owen Memorial on Saturday, April 11. The event will feature USAC National Sprint Cars, Diamond Heavy Haul Modifieds and Lawrence Motorsports Trailer Sales Hornets.
