(Franklin County, Ind.) - There is a current scam where calls are being made impersonating a Franklin County Sheriff's Department deputy.

The caller is telling residents that they have missing jury duty and that a fine needs to be paid.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Department would never initiate a call of this sort. If you receive such a call, do not give out any personal information and hang up immediately.

To verify jury duty, contact your local Judge's Office.
