(INDIANAPOLIS) - Ivy Tech Community College was named in the annual Top 100 ranking of America’s Best Employers for Women by Forbes, which teamed up with market research company Statista. The rankings identify the companies liked most by female workers and included representation at the executive and board levels, as well as initiatives to improve gender equity and recent or unresolved allegations regarding discrimination or misconduct.

“I am honored to be a part of Ivy Tech serving as its first female president and working alongside the talented and dedicated faculty and staff as we are recognized as a top employer for women,” said Sue Ellspermann, Ivy Tech President. “Women comprise not only our faculty and staff, but also our leadership at Cabinet levels, campus leadership, and our State Board of Trustees.”

Ivy Tech was one of 21 educational institutions listed in the category and one of two that identified as a community college.

“I am thrilled to see Ivy Tech named as a top employer for women,” said Stephanie Bibbs, Ivy Tech State Board of Trustees Chair. “Ivy Tech continues to be a trailblazer in recognizing exceptional talent at every level in higher education. I’m delighted to serve as Chair of the State Board and to work with such amazing individuals who have made this recognition possible.”

Ivy Tech females make up 59 percent of nearly 4,000 employees, with 64 percent as full-time, 54 percent as part-time, and 50 percent identified as leadership. Sixty percent of females are full-time faculty and 40 percent represented on the State Board of Trustees.
