(Versailles, Ind.) - Motorists are advised to watch their speeds when traveling along U.S. 50 this weekend.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Stephen Wheeles says the annual Highway 50 Yard Sales are taking place this weekend, extending through four counties in the ISP-Versailles District.

"If you are traveling along US 50 this weekend, please use caution. Slow your speeds, watch for vehicles making sudden stops, and watch for pedestrians crossing the road," said Wheeles.

Wheeles added, if you are out shopping at yard sales to find that sweet deal this weekend, be mindful of traffic. Do not stop suddenly or make unsafe u-turns. Park in a safe location off the road and be extremely careful if you have to walk across US 50.

"As always, put the phone down and buckle up," said Wheeles.
