The overpass across Interstate 74 has been closed since mid-April.

(Ripley County, Ind.) – A Ripley County overpass that has been closed since mid-April is expected to re-open on Monday.
The Indiana Department of Transportation plans to remove barricades and re-open the Lammer’s Pike bridge over Interstate 74 just southeast of Batesville after 12:00 p.m.
The Lammer’s Pike structure has been closed since mid-April after a state inspection noted the failing condition of a box beam. A series of load tests and further examination determined the overpass could safely support traffic by shifting traffic weight away from the faulty support beam.
INDOT plans to begin replacement of the bridge’s superstructure in August of 2020.
