Indiana Unemployment Remains Unchanged in January

As of March 1, there were over 130,000 open job postings throughout the state.

INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana’s unemployment rate remained unchanged in January.

According to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development, the state’s jobless rate currently stands at 3.1 percent. Indiana’s unemployment rate is slightly lower than the national rate of 3.4 percent.

For January, the Hoosier labor force participation rate held at 63.4 percent, remaining above the national rate of 62.4 percent.

In total, the state’s labor force stands at 3.4 million.

As of March 1, there were 130,839 open job postings throughout the state.

The DWD estimates there are 126,064 Hoosiers that are unemployed, want a job, or are out of the labor force.
