House Standing Committees Named

Our local lawmakers are well represented.

(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Indiana House Speaker Brian Bosma has released standing committee assignments ahead of the 2020 legislative session.

Locally, State Rep. Randy Frye (R-Greensburg) will Chair the Veterans Affairs and Public Safety Committee. Frye will also serve on the Roads and Transportation committee, the Utilities, Energy and Telecommunications committee.  

Randy Lyness (R-West Harrison) has been named the Vice Chair of the Employment, Labor and Pensions committee. Lyness will also serve on the Government and Regulatory Reform committee and the Local Government committee.  

Cindy Ziemke (R-Batesville) will serve on the Criminal Code committee and the Family, Children and Human Affairs committee. 

“Our team is fortunate to have a deep bench of talented legislators who are ready to step into committee leadership roles, and I’m confident they’ll hit the ground running next session,” Bosma said. “We also have two new caucus members who have a breadth of experience in the private and public sectors to draw on, which will be a tremendous asset for us. Our committees cultivate ideas and lay the ground work for legislation, which is critical to making the legislative process more effective and efficient.”
