(Hebron, Ky.) - A Hebron man was killed during an incident with police this past weekend.
Michael T. Pelley, 33, of Hebron, died during an officer-involved shooting on June 27 near the 1800 block of Petersburg Road in Hebron, reports the NKY Tribune.
According to Kentucky State Police, Boone County Sheriff's deputies responded to the area and made contact with Pelley.
During the incident, Pelley allegedly pulled out a knife and charged at the responded deputies, despite several commands to drop his weapon. One of the deputies would fire at least one gunshot at Pelley.
Pelley was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence where he was later pronounced dead.
Kentucky State Police said Boone County Sheriff's deputies had several encounters with Pelley and that he eluded them several times on June 27.
No other details have been released as the incident remains under investigation.
