(Hebron, Ky.) - A Hebron man is being charged for falsely reporting an incident after telling police that an armed man was trying to force entry into his home.
Brad E. Folke, 42, first reported a burglary to Boone County deputies on the morning of Thursday, May 7. When police arrived to his home, Folke showed video footage of an armed man on his property on Sequoia Lane.
When police requested time stamped footage from the day of the incident, footage was no longer available on the home security device.
After an extensive investigation, Folke confessed that the armed man seen in the surveillance video was him.
Despite Folke's confession, the 42-year-old took to social media yesterday afternoon to maintain the claim that he was in fear for his family’s safety; “We know 100 percent that someone was at my back door…”
At this time, the investigation has no substantial evidence to support this claim.
Boone County Sheriff’s Office detectives charged Folke with one count of Falsely Reporting an Incident (Class A Misdemeanor).
Folke will appear in court on June 23.
