Heat Advisory in Effect Thursday for Tri-State Area

(Wilmington, Oh.) - A Heat Advisory will go into effect on Thursday. 

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory will run from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for portions of east central and southeast Indiana, northeast and northern Kentucky, and central, south central, southwest, and west central Ohio. 

Heat index values up to 103 are expected. 

Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat-related illnesses. 

The NWS encourages individuals to drink plenty fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
